On 12 July 2017, the Embassy of Monaco in Paris celebrated the anniversary of H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s accession at the Pavillon Gabriel, located next to the Elysée Palace.

Nearly 400 guests were welcomed by H.E. Ambassador Claude Cottalorda and his wife, including H.R.H. Princess Barbara of Yugoslavia, the French Minister for European Affairs Ms Nathalie Loiseau; numerous ambassadors, among them H.E. Ms Marine de Carne de Trecesson de Coetlogon, France’s Ambassador to Monaco; Members of Parliament including Ms Samantha Cazebonne, very recently elected as a member of the French National Assembly representing French citizens overseas; representatives from French ministries and institutions, including the Chief Education Officer of the Regional Education Authority of Paris and Chancellor of the Universities of Paris Mr Gilles Pécout; and several directors of major French companies.

Monaco’s consuls in France, Monegasque nationals and friends of Monaco resident in Paris also joined in the celebrations.

In his speech, the Ambassador emphasised H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s commitment to the climate and the oceans, and the actions Monaco has taken on these issues. He recalled that this commitment was part of the Principality’s long history, which has always had a focus on the sea.
After a toast to the royal family, the guests had an opportunity to sample some Mediterranean dishes and Monegasque beers in a genial atmosphere.
