As it does every year, the Embassy of Monaco in Paris held its traditional reception to mark the anniversary of the Sovereign Prince’s accession.

The reception was preceded by a meeting of Monaco’s Consular Corps in France during the morning, followed by a working lunch.

The 400 guests were welcomed at Latin American House by H.E. Mr Michel Roger, the Minister of State, and H.E. Mr Claude Cottalorda, Monaco’s Ambassador in Paris.

Among those present were numerous ambassadors and representatives to international organisations in France, deputies, senators, senior civil servants and staff from ministerial offices, together with a wide range of personalities from the worlds of politics, economics, science and culture.

During his speech, H.E. Mr Claude Cottalorda recalled the unique nature of the evening, celebrating the ten-year reign of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II.

The Ambassador of Monaco highlighted the actions undertaken by the Principality during this period on sustainable development and environmental protection, economic development and compliance with international standards, not to mention the implementation of a development aid policy and new urban projects, both completed and planned for the future.

H.E. Mr Claude Cottalorda also recalled the enormous joy felt by Monegasques at the end of last year on the birth of Hereditary Prince Jacques and his sister Princess Gabriella.
