A first evening of lectures was offered in Paris, at the Maison des Océans, by the Monaco Philosophical Encounters on March 28th. Invited by Charlotte Casiraghi and founding members of the Rencontres, the philosophers Frédéric Gros and Marc Crépon as well as the sociologist Gisèle Sapiro spoke on the theme: "Philosophizing now, crisis and new challenges".

During her speech, Charlotte Casiraghi particularly welcomed the partnership with the Government and the National Education, Youth and Sports Department, that allows, through workshops, to bring philosophy into the classroom at a young age.

Founded in 2015 by Charlotte Casiraghi, Joseph Cohen, Robert Maggiori and Raphael Zagury-Orly, the Monaco Philosophical Meetings aim to open philosophy to the greatest number, by proposing thematic conferences. After "love and body", the theme of the conference cycle for the 2017-2018 season in Monaco will be "violence".

This first meeting in Paris, between the art of philosophy, the art of dance, culinary originality and a concert of Mathieu Chedid and Yaron Herman, was the occasion to announce the colloquium which will take place June 7 and 8 in Monaco, and will focus on: "The time of conversation".
